David has been a partner of Escott Aston for over 20 years and it is David’s integrity and commitment to success that has resulted in long term relationships with his clients and staff.

David is always looking for ways to grow and improve the business and it’s with his strategic thinking that Escott Aston remains up to date with the latest developments and technologies. As a strong advocate of cloud accounting technology, David is well versed to assist clients in transitioning their business to the cloud.

Through David’s experience, he understands what it means to run a business and the importance of having a business plan and growth strategy. David has extensive knowledge and experience in taxation, accounting, audit and self-managed super funds and is continually looking for tax and business solutions for his clients.

David enjoys the opportunity of working closely with his clients. Their success in achieving their financial and lifestyle goals is what motivates him to keep doing what he does best.

Outside of work David enjoys spending time with his family, keeping fit and raising money for charity. He also enjoys watching rugby league and hopes that the Cronulla Sharks will make it to the grand final in 2016!

Michael Garcia
Partner

Michael joined Escott Aston in 2004 and became a partner in 2014. In the years prior to becoming a partner, Michael built up strong relationships with his clients and colleagues and so the transition to partner was a natural progression. Michael’s determination to succeed ensures he is well placed to help Escott Aston continue to grow and become a “firm of now”.

With a keen interest in information technology, Michael is always on the lookout for new applications that can add value to the business and ensure that we remain ahead of the field. He is also a strong advocate of cloud accounting technology and is able to assist clients to transition their business to the cloud.

Michael enjoys working closely with his clients and he believes that for a business to succeed it all starts with a business plan and growth strategy. Michael’s calm measured approach and his passion for all things accounting ensures that he is well placed to assist his clients add value to their business and ultimately achieve their lifestyle and financial goals.

Specialising in taxation and business advisory services, through his experience Michael is able to provide advice and support to his clients on all levels. Michael is also an experienced auditor within the not-for-profit, university and trust account sectors.

Michael enjoys his time away from work with his wife Jess, travelling whenever he can and discovering new whiskeys. He has two Pug fur babies named Beetle and Buttons who also keep him busy.

Tom Chappell
Senior Accountant & Manager

Tom joined Escott Aston nearly 30 years ago and has seen many changes come and go in the accounting profession.

Tom’s extensive experience in all aspects of tax, accounting and audit provides him with the expertise and knowledge to help guide our team. He enjoys the variety and challenges that comes from working with a diverse range of clients and specialises in accounting and taxation of self-managed super funds and the audit of Registered Clubs.

When not at work Tom enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, fishing and playing golf.

Aaron Roberts
Senior Accountant & Manager

Aaron has been with Escott Aston since 2005. After initially completing a TAFE course in accounting, Aaron decided that accounting was for him. He then went on to complete further studies at university to gain his business degree.

With a keen interest in tax consulting, financial audits and specialist compliance audits, Aaron strives to help his clients understand any problems they may have and works with them to find the best possible solutions.

Aaron’s strong analytical skills serve him well to also provide business advice and guidance for his clients.

Away from work Aaron likes to discover new restaurants, play soccer with his mates and watch sport of any kind! Aaron also hopes that his beloved Cronulla Sharks will make it to the grand final in 2016.

Sarah Roberts
Senior Accountant & Manager

Sarah has been with Escott Aston since 2006 and is the Excel expert of the office. She has a keen eye for procedural change and is always looking for ways to perform tasks more efficiently.

Currently specialising in accounting and taxation of self-managed super funds, Sarah also has extensive experience in specialist compliance audits as well as trust account audits for Solicitors and Real Estate Agents.

When not at work you will find Sarah spending time with her family and running around after her four children. Sarah also enjoys sewing and doing craft whenever she may have a spare moment!

Chandar Singh
Senior Accountant

Chandar joined Escott Aston in 2003 and currently specialises in the auditing of self-managed super funds.

Chandar also has extensive experience in accounting and works on our larger client groups within the office. He loves the challenge of solving complex company issues for our clients and relishes any opportunity to apply his problem solving skills.

Outside of work Chandar likes to spend time with his family. He also takes the opportunity to return to Fiji to see his extended family whenever he can. When not travelling, Chandar likes to play social soccer with his friends to keep fit.

Chad Laboyrie
Senior Accountant

Chad joined Escott Aston in 2008 just after completing his university studies and is the resident Xero hero of our office.

Chad knows and understands the many benefits of cloud accounting and really enjoys helping new and existing businesses capitalise on this exciting technology. He is responsible for providing client training and for working with clients to develop an implementation plan. He will guide you every step of the way to transition to cloud accounting.

Chad also brings valuable experience in taxation, FBT and specialist compliance audits to the team.

Away from work Chad likes to keep fit by surfing and playing soccer. He is a keen advocate for Men’s Health and raises money each year for Movember. Chad also enjoys watching rugby league and is another team member who is also hoping that Cronulla Sharks will score a spot in the grand final in 2016.

Ada Ng
Accountant

Ada is the newest member of Escott Aston after joining our team in 2014.

Recently completing her commerce degree, Ada is excited to further her studies. She plans to undertake the CA Program in the coming years to become a Chartered Accountant.

Since joining Escott Aston, Ada has already gained valuable experience in taxation, accounting and audit. It is this experience that she will draw on to assist her in completing the rigorous CA program.

When not at work Ada loves to shop! She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the movies and doing craft.

Narelle Sampson
Practice Manager

Narelle joined Escott Aston in 2009 and as Practice Manager, she attends to the administrative side of the business.

Narelle ensures that the practice is running smoothly and efficiently and as our first point of contact, she sees to it that our clients are always well looked after.

Outside of work Narelle enjoys spending time her with her family and loves to look after her grandson, who keeps her on her toes! Narelle also enjoys keeping fit and reading.


Karen Aston
Business Manager

Karen is the Business Manager of Escott Aston and joined the team in 2003.

With a keen eye for detail, Karen looks after most of the one-off special projects that arise within the business. This attention to detail ensures that we always maintain a high level of quality that is expected as Chartered Accountants.

When not at work Karen enjoys spending time with her family, keeping fit and raising money for charity. Karen also enjoys cooking and photography and would love to have more time to indulge in both of these!


Kerry Hardiman
Bookkeeper

Kerry joined Escott Aston in 2000 and has many years’ experience as a business bookkeeper.

Kerry’s specialty is now working with self-managed super funds. She undertakes the processing of our client super funds and loves the challenge of solving problems around the complexities of self-managed super fund accounting.

Away from work Kerry likes to spend time with her husband and two children. She is a keen traveller and is always planning her next trip somewhere in the great outdoors. Kerry also enjoys reading and cooking.
